The Book of Romans is one book that is like reading the entire Bible in one letter or one book. The Apostle Paul is writing to the “Church at Rome. ”These are Christians who are living in Rome, Italy, at the time of Paul’s letter. You’ve heard the saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. ”The prior statement that spawned our current day “vegas statement” was the old day saying, “when you Rome, do as the Romans do. ”The phrase comes from a medieval latin phrase ‘si fueris Romae, Romano vivito more’ which means, ‘if you are in Rome, then live in the Roman manner’.  At this time, Paul is literally writing to the center of the world, Rome.  Another proverbial statement is “All roads lead to Rome.” This gospel globetrotter, who’s on mission for Christ, is writing to the Church at Rome announcing there is a way different than the Romans and there is only one way that leads to life not many roads. Our time in the Book of Romans will give us the Gospel according to God. This is Paul’s letter to the Romans, but it is God’s letter to us. This is how God did it. There’s no changing the story, God did it and wrote it through “men moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21). Through this time, the study of God’s Word is of most importance. The activation of God’s Word in our lives is imperative, and, God’s Word, is moving us to implement it to our family and to our world in which we go each and every day. When in Rome...do as Jesus did!
